Defatted White Soya flakes required for manufacture of Textured
Vegetable Protein, Protein Concentrates and Protein Isolate
manufacture can be manufactured only in a Flash Desolventising
System. The flash desolventising system is capable of achieving
the highest possible Protein Dispersibility Index at the upper
end of the desired range.
In the FDS a dry dehydrating temperature prevails and the
temperature of the flakes is no higher than the boiling point
of the solvent and the retention time is a few seconds.
The least denaturation of the flakes takes place and PDI levels
upto 95% of that of the incoming material are achieved.
The flash loop consists of carefully designed transport tube
where superheated hexane vapous are circulated by means of
a special blower in sparkproof design and equipped with special
labyrinth seals.
The temperature and pressures in the system are carefully
controlled by a fully automated system.
The Solvent wet flakes from the extractor are metered into
the desolventising tube using special rotary valves.
The desolventised white flakes are seperated in a specially
designed cyclone nom where they are removed to a stripper
and then transported for bagging.
The hexane vapours are scrubbed in special scrubbers to avoid
fouling and then passed to the distillation section.
